I hope this update finds your family gracefully changing gears for spring days in school routine to the sunny summer days of June and soon July. For the most part our teachers and staff have completed their final checklists and are planning some well-deserved days at home or traveling to see friends and family. I cannot tell you what a blessing it is to serve alongside such a dedicated team of teachers and workers at Centralia Christian School.

Remember our summer office hours: (Beginning June 24th) Wednesdays from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.and the phone messages will be checked daily.  Also, if you need to leave a message for me, simply press 100 when you hear Sharon’s voice beginning the greeting. That will send you right to my voicemail. I will be at the school all summer except for the first week of July.

CARPET – The money received from FEMA will pay the majority of the expense of our new carpet squares being installed around mid-July.  The workers will be doing half of each classroom first, then we will move everything onto the new carpet while they complete the other half.  Lastly, they will carpet the halls, library and offices.  We still have those old carpet squares to use in the chapel and some other areas not covered by the original replacement plan.

PLUMBING – The plumbers are working hard sawing very thick and jack-hammering very hard concrete in preparation for plumbing our new showers, bathrooms and drinking fountain.  They started right on time (June 15th).  You can see by the pictures there is more jack-hammering to be done and then lots of fill to be removed.  The showers may not be 100% completed by fall but the dressing and changing areas of the boys/girls areas will be usable.

KITCHEN, PANTRY, CONFERENCE, STAFF WORK ROOM AND MAINTENANCE AREA – These Phase III areas are all in process of finishing.  Some are awaiting texture and others are very close to being totally sheet rocked.   Soon we will be moving an exterior door from the future bathrooms to the corner of the kitchen for access from the breezeway.

GYM – We are excited to be planning to have our gym floor deep cleaned and re-coating with oil finish this August.  An anonymous donor has picked up the cost of this project and we are very grateful to be able to keep our gym floor in top shape.  This project should take place toward the end of July.

BLESSING!  The school was recently blessed when my pastor said he and the board wanted to donate the labor required to complete the sheet rocking above the bleachers!  We had gathered all the needed materials so the Napavine Assembly Church paid a sheet rocking crew to come in and take that

section all the way through texture and priming.  It really gives that area a finished look and just needs to be painted to be completely finished – yahoo!! (See photo of gym in album)

Wanted: A person with carpentry skills who could design and mount 3 basketball backboards/rims in the gymnasium. Please let us know if you are willing to work on this project by calling the school. Thanks!
