CCS Parents, Thank you for coming to Parent Orientation Night. We have news regarding snacks/lunches and recess, please read the following:
There has been a schedule change made for grades 1-8. We will now be having the mid-day (lunch) recess prior to students eating their lunch. Our goal is to allow the kids to leave class and run off their energy, get some fresh air, and then focus on eating a good lunch. As they leave the playground, they will be washing hands on the way to the lunchroom. After lunch, they will return to their scheduled class for the afternoon.
Since this will alter the start time of lunches, we will be allowing students to bring and eat a snack at their morning recess. Please plan accordingly so your child will have sufficient food to eat if they decide to take something from their lunch to eat in the morning.
Also, please mark your calendar for the first Pizza Friday: September 17.
Milk and supplemental lunch items will be available beginning on the first day of school. Please remember lunch purchases are now by prepaid ticket only. Check the first edition of the Lion’s Roar for the list of what’s available!

From the Principal's Desk ~
Construction Update:
Our Phase III construction here at school is continuing
to progress. (These projects are being paid for with designated
Phase III funds and are not part of our operating budget).
-Our awesome blue/white checkerboard tile patterns of the floors in the future restrooms and current dressing rooms are finished!
-Our toilets, urinals and sinks are installed in our restrooms
and dressing rooms!
-The dressing room shower floors are tiled (as of Aug. 11th) and now the walls are being done. Soon the shower towers will be installed! Great progress!
-The new kitchen is progressing with cabinets, counters and ovens. The convection oven is installed with a new gas line and all the sink plumbing is complete. Tom Kemp is building a portable serving counter for our kitchen.
